Desmond’s Leap Of Faith
After Assassin’s Creed Revelations expanded the lore at the end of the game and put a bigger focus on the modern-day setting of the story, Assassin’s Creed III put players in Desmond’s shoes a lot more than the previous games. These segments can sometimes feel a little stale compared to gameplay in the Animus. But this was a moment that had all fans on the edge of their seats.
After climbing up a big crane on top of a skyscraper, Desmond takes a leap of faith and lets go of his parachute so he can slowly float to the helipad on the other side. Even though Desmond might not be the most interesting main character. This was one of the most amazing things he did and a real show for fans.
Bar Fight
People often say that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is one of the best current games in the series. A big reason for this is how well Ubisoft captured what it was like to be a pirate, with all the ships and songs to go with it.
Near the beginning of the game, when Edward goes into a bar. He starts fighting with an Englishman who seems to know him. It doesn’t take long for a bloody fight to break out, which teaches the player how to fight. With a song playing in the background and bodies flying through tables. This was a great way to show players how busy and often violent a pirate’s life can be.
Shay Betrays The Assassins
Any fan of the Assassin’s Creed series really owes it to themselves to play Assassin’s Creed Rogue because it adds so much to the games’ lore. This time, the player controls a Templar instead of an Assassin. And the game shows many of the terrible things the Assassins did that we didn’t see in the other games.
Shay chooses to steal a book from his “brothers” when he hears that his old friend Achilles is going to keep looking for the Precursor Artifacts. Which have already killed many innocent people and destroyed whole cities. This was the turning point in Shay’s journey. It was also the first time fans saw that the Assassins might not be as good as they say they are.
Escaping The Bastille
Arno gets out of the Bastille with the help of a mystery stranger. When he gets to the top of the prison, he is told that he should find a group called the Assassins and that he would fit in well with them. Arno is confused and baffled by the man’s offer, but he decides to take him up on it. But not before he takes a leap of faith off the top of the old jail.
The game then moves the camera to the angry people of Paris. Showing how big and violent the French Revolution was.
Racing Federico
In the introduction for Assassin’s Creed II, Ezio has to race his brother Federico to the top of a church. This shows how competitive the brothers can be, but also how much they care about and depend on each other.
Once they reach the top, they talk about their lives and how lucky they are to be where they are. Ezio says he hopes it never changes, and Federico responds with the now-iconic line “and may it never change us.”
Connor Killing Haytham
Much of the story in Assassin’s Creed III is driven by the hatred and disdain between Connor and Haytham. By the end of Doodle Baseball, all Connor wants to do is get his hands on the man who he thinks took everything from him, which leads to a very satisfying final fight in which Hathway gets a hidden blade through the neck.
Fans have thought that Haytham was really looking for Connor to kill him here. Because he secretly couldn’t bring himself to mess up the Templars’ plans. This is what makes this scene so interesting. The book Assassin’s Creed Forsaken almost confirms this, which makes this scene even more special.
Desmond’s Sacrifice
Desmond was called a “MacGuffin” whose only real purpose was to move the story along. But as the games went on, he became a much more developed and detailed character. Especially in Assassin’s Creed III, where fans meet his father.
So, it was a big shock when, at the end of Assassin’s Creed III, Desmond activated the Pedestal and killed himself in order to free Juno and put a safe shield around the Earth. No fan could have seen this coming, and for many players, it made them wonder where the series could go next now that the man who made it possible to move through time was gone.
Ezio Collects His Robes
After his father and brothers are put in jail for a fake plot, Ezio’s father tells him to get the things from a box that is hidden behind a secret wall in his father’s study. Ezio gets a few papers and a sword. But he also gets the Assassin clothes that he will wear in the rest of the games.
The triumphant music playing in the background and how desperate Ezio feels at that point in the story make this a truly unforgettable moment. It worked so well because the game let players use Ezio as a teenager before this moment to build up to it, making it feel like he was entering the world of the Assassins for the first time.
Ezio Talks To Desmond
Even though Desmond’s ancestors were Assassins, none of them should have been able to talk to him because they lived in different times. That is, until Ezio spoke to Desmond near the end of Assassin’s Creed Revelations as they were approaching the Apple of Eden.
Ezio decides to leave the artifact where it is. He comforts Desmond by telling him that he had tried to find a meaning in his life. But that after everything, he was just a messenger. Ezio takes out his hidden blades and sword, drops them on the ground, and leaves the Brotherhood. This is the end of one of the best character arcs in game history.
